BIOGRAPHY

Gary Brent Hinson was born in Bristow, OK on July 16, 1952. He is the only child of the late Fletcher T. Hinson and Jeanne M. Hinson. He graduated from Bristow High School in 1970. He is a Christian by faith. His first marriage was graced by one daughter Heather Ann. She is married to Dr. James Hayton this union has been blessed with two daughters Beatrice and Raffaella. Gary was honored to be the husband to the late Deborah Kay Lawrence for thirty years. This marriage was blessed with three daughters, Melissa Jeanne, she is married to Kevin Woodward she is the loving mother of four, one daughter Alexis and three sons, Treavor, Jackson and Grayson. Jennifer Leanne Madden and her husband Billy are the proud parents of two children Landin and Hadley, and their youngest loving daughter Stacey Nicole Hinson.
Gary began his career in the heavy construction industry as a member of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters. He worked on various types of facilities including Oil refineries, LNG plants, and Nuclear power plants. In 1975 Gary was hired as a Welding Engineer for the Bechtel Corporation. He transferred to the Savannah River Site DOE facility in Aiken, South Carolina in 1989. He has held positions of increasing responsibly and now holds the position of Lead Site Welding Engineer and anticipates on retiring in November 2018.
R.W. Brother Hinson is a Perpetual Life member of Acacia Lodge #315 AFM in North Augusta, SC. He was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on June 28th 1991, and served as Worshipful Master in 1995 he served as Treasurer from 1996 till 2005. He was appointed DDGM for the 6th Dist. in 1997-1999. In 2001 he was appointed Senior Grand Deacon. He was Chairman of the Board of Masonic Relief from 2003-2007. He is a member of the South Carolina Masonic Research Society.
Illustrious Bro. Hinson joined the A&ASR in Augusta, Ga. in 1991 and served as Venerable Master in 1996 and Wise Master in 1998. He affiliated to the Valley of Aiken and Columbia in 1999. He is a Perpetual Life member in both Valleys. He was invested with the rank and decoration of KCCH at the 200th Anniversary of the A&ASR in Charleston, SC in 2000. He is Personal Representative Emeritus for the Valley of Aiken. He was coroneted a 33 Inspector General Honorary in 2005 and was chosen as the class Exemplar. He is currently serving as General Secretary for the Valley of Aiken. He serves as a Trustee Emeritus for the Scottish Rite Foundation, and Past Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Valley of Aiken.
RE Comp. Hinson was exalted a Royal Arch Mason in Kadoshlayah Chapter # 41 in 1992. He is a Past High Priest and received the Holy Order of High Priests in 1995 and served the Grand Royal Arch Chapter as DDGHP and Grand Captain of the Host. He is a life sponsor of the Royal Arch Research Assistance He is currently serving as Secretary/Recorder of all three bodies of the Aiken York Rite, and a Perpetual Life Member of all three bodies. At the annual South Carolina Grand York Session in 2016 he was elected PGHPH.
MI Comp. Hinson was greeted as a Royal and Select Master in Aiken Council # 23 in 1992, he received the SEM that same year. He served as Illustrious Master in 1996 and the Grade of Thrice Illustrious Master. The Grand Council honored him with the Ish Sodi award in 2000. Gary was elected Most Illustrious Grand Master in 2002, and is the Grand Representative to the Grand Council of Oklahoma. The General Grand Council of Cryptic Masons International awarded him the Order of the Secret Vault in 2015.
E. Sir Knight Hinson was Dubbed and Created a Knight Templar in Aiken Commandery # 14 in 1992. He served as Eminent Commander in 1997 and Dubbed a Knight Crusader of the Cross. He served the Grand Commandery as Eminent Grand Sword Bearer. He is a Life sponsor of the Knights Templar Eye Foundation. Gary received the honor of Knight Commander of the Temple by the Grand Encampment of Knight Templars of the USA.
MV Bro. Hinson was initiated into Aiken Council No.140 AMD in 1994. He was elected Sovereign Master in 2001 and awarded the Knight Red Branch of Eri in 2004. He has been serving as Secretary/Treasurer since 2005. MV Bro. Hinson began his service to the Grand Council of Allied Masonic Degrees in 2009 when he was appointed Tyler by MV Bro William R. "Bill" Logan he has progressed through the line until being elected Most Venerable Sovereign Grand Master on February 11, 2017.
